Ok, so im sure im not the only what doesnt like the way this roleplay is heading. I've created this topic as a petition/suggestion thread. Everyone post your opinion about this government take over thing, and give tutly some suggestions on some new rules that would help us go back to way things used to be. If any of you were around back in late febuary or so, the roleplay was perfect back then. a little crime to keep the cops busy, but enough order to keep the roleplay fun. thats just my opinion.

Don't go all "Dictator" or "Tyrant" on everyone and kill everyones character, they get pissed and start to cause chaos, perfect example last night.

Try and make a rule to stop these killing sprees, it gets very old very quickly.

i would copy and paste my newsbeat letter but ill stop while nobodys commiting suicide lol!
anyway i really suggest u have to pay alot of money to even own a gun unless your a cop because they get there guns from the government and they need them for law enforcement and vigilanteys because we also need them to help with the upkeep of the society and such and guns must only be used in dire situations like a serial killer terrorist attacks and resisting arrest and theres gunna be people saying but i got mine in a dumpster or the black market or just picked up a gun and decided to rampage give them a penalty like your not aloud in a game for the next 2 or 3 rps that will quite them down and if they break the rule and miss 3 rps theyll most likely will be scared crapless to even look at a gun and for repeat offenders theres always complete expulsion

Buzz, believe me, I understand what you mean. Tutly and I spent a good hour or so last night just redesigning some things, and here' what's going to happen. First, I'm going to tell you the root problems, and then I'm going to tell you guys the solutions:

Root Problem: New player's don't care about their character.
Sad, but true. Why bother trying to build up your character when you can make a new one an infinite number of times in one roleplay? Since people don't care aboiut their character, they don't value their life. THis creates instances where people will think:
"Meh, what the heck, I'l go and try and drive-by the mayor and have everyone chase me for the entire game. Who cares if I do, I can make a new character in less than 2 minutes".
Solution: New rule: You're allowed to make ONE new character every game. If your first character dies and then your second one dies, you will be asked to leave for the night, but are welcome to come back to future games. The reason we are doing it like this is because we want to give the veteran members tat know what they're doing the opportunity to build up their characters without the noobs that just want a cheap thrill and don't care about the rp or their stats at all. This is an effective way to weed out the people who have no respect for how they coordinate themselves, and just grab a gun and car and try to be badasses. The smarter members who plan out their crimes will end up living longer than the ciminals who are extremely generic and predictable.

I originally opposed this idea at first because I figured there would be people who honestly didn't know any better, and would end up getting kicked from the game that day, but I've thought about it, and it's the only way to get people to start valueing their character's life a little more. To prevent honestly ignorant people from getting kicked just because they don't know what they're doing, I've decided to formulate a "guide" on here; "How to 'Make it' in Liberty City". This little gide will detail how to become organized, how to plan out crimes, or business plans, etc. and how the organization came to power with very little resitance. If anything, this guide should help give ideas on how they can play a bit smarter.

Another problem we were having is new characters coming into this Roleplay with a job like "criminal" or "car jacker" or something along those lines. This created issues because even before playing the roleplay, people knew that they were tasked with being outlaws. Killing people, stealing cars, they do it becaue they think it's their job. Tutly has decided to remove these jobs with the hope that people will pick something more fruitful in their endeavors to make themselves "successful" in Liberty City. Does that mean you can't be a criminal anymore? Absolutely not. It simply means that you're going to have to start thinking out your crimes better. If you're a smart and organized criminal, you'll last longer than a dumb, unorganized criminal. Simple as that.

The one thing that people seem to keep forgetting is that this rolpley was designed with the idea of depth; anything is possible here. Cops giving you trouble? Buy them off. Don't want to get blamed for a crime? Set up someone else to do it, and get them in trouble, then bail 'em out, or not. This Roleplay is designed with the philosophy that anything is possible, there are many different ways around every obstacle, there are quick ways, and sfae ways, there are endless possibilities here.

As for last night's Roleplay, Tutly and I both agree that it was a disaster, and so we're rolling back the clock to as if none of the things that took place on Sunday ever happened.

Mr. Muteswitch wrote:anyway i really suggest u have to pay alot of money to even own a gun unless your a cop because they get there guns from the government and they need them for law enforcement and vigilanteys because we also need them to help with the upkeep of the society and such and guns must only be used in dire situations like a serial killer terrorist attacks and resisting arrest

First off, everone already spawns with a glock 17. If a player has the skill to use pistols, there's nothing we can do to regulate whether or not they use it.

Secondly, Vigilantism is a felony. It is illegal, and the government isn't going to sponsor vigilante behavior from citizens, the government is going to have those people arrested or shot. It's more of a one-way street. You defend the city, the city wants to find and capture/possibly kill you.

Thirdly, what if someone is resisting arrest when you'trying to arrest them for driving under the influence? I certainly see no reason to shoot someone over it unless they pull out a gun first.

What I want to hear are people's thoughts on the whole, "only one extra character, and if he dies, you're out" rule. Thoughts? Suggestions? Keep n mind what it was designed it fix. The people who think "so what if I die, I'll just make a new character". This isn't how the roleplay was meant to be played, and it ruins the fun for everyone else.

Also, this is community affairs related. Moved.

Why not? We have a section dedicated strictly to feedback. We value it greatly, and if people are upset, we'd all like to know about it. It helps better the roleplay.
